Types of binding

Wiro bound

This is a common binding which groups independent pages together with a durable, neat metal binding. Commonly used for student dissertations, office documents and notebooks.

For up to 450 pages (225 sheets)

Staple bound

The most economical binding method. Pages are folded, creased and stapled together. Due to this the number of pages will always be a multiple of 4. This type of binding is often used for lookbooks, brochures, booklets, and magazines that have a smaller page count.

From 8 to 68 pages

Perfect bound

The pages and cover are glued together at the spine with a strong yet flexible thermal glue. The cover is made from one piece of paper or cardstock that is heavier than the interior pages. This type of binding is often used for magazines, brochures and soft-back books.

From 40 to 400 pages

Comb bound

Comb bindings use the same principal as wiro bindings just with a plastic binding rather than metal. Commonly used for student dissertations, office documents and notebooks.

Thermal bound

The thermal binding uses an adhesive strip which is heated up to bind independent sheets into a book . It’s a quick and cost effective technique which is commonly used for office documents and student dissertations.

From 20 to 400 pages (10 to 200 sheets)
